Officer Jake Callahan started his law enforcement career with the Marseilles Police Department in March of 2007. He began part time training through the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board at this time. Upon graduation in December of 2007, he was hired as a full time Officer.
Officer Callahan graduated with his Associates of Science Degree from Illinois Valley Community College in May of 2004. He was the President of the local chapter of Lambda Alpha Epsilon (law enforcement group) and a member of Sigma Kappa Delta. In 2005 he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL with a Law Enforcement Justice Administration major and a Security Administration minor at Cum Laude level. Officer Callahan continues his training through classes and seminars.
Officer Callahan serves as the Department’s Field Training Officer, Evidence Custodian, and Crime Scene Investigator with focuses on photography, fingerprints, and blood stain patterns. Officer Callahan is a member of the Illinois Evidence and Property Management Association and International Crime Scene Investigators Association.
Officer Callahan has been recognized yearly by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for his enforcement of DUI’s from 2008-present (2014), with a letter of accommodation in 2009 from Chief Hovious.
Officer Callahan is married with one son.
