Jim Hollenbeck
Commissioner Jim Hollenbeck is a 37-year law enforcement veteran having started his career with the Marseilles Police Department.

Hollenbeck is also a 34-year veteran of the Marseilles Fire Protection District and currently serves as an Assistant Chief and Emergency Medical Technician.

Hollenbeck, after 10 years with the Marseilles Police Department, attaining the rank of Assistant Chief, advanced his career to the State of Illinois where he was a Special Agent, Arson Investigator in the Office of the State Fire Marshal.  Hollenbeck was promoted to Area Commander for Northern Illinois and the K-9 Program coordinator.

Hollenbeck then was assigned to Internal Affairs and the FBI Terrorist Task Force in Chicago.

Hollenbeck has received extensive training in the Supervision of Police Personnel from Northwestern University in Chicago, and Police Management from Sangamon State in Springfield. Hollenbeck also has received training in the Reid Technique for Interviews, Interrogations, and Statement Analysis; and serves as an instructor at the academy in Springfield. Hollenbeck also has received extensive training in covert operations, drug investigations, surveillance, crime scene processing and photography. Hollenbeck is a University of Illinois Certified Police Officer, Arson Investigator, Field Training Officer, Firefighter II and Breath Alcohol Analysis Operator.

During his career Hollenbeck has received numerous letters of commendation and awards for Heroism, Meritorious Service, and 2 awards for Life Saving. Hollenbeck also received an award from the Governors Arson Advisory Board and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Arson Unit for conducting outstanding arson investigations and maintaining an exemplary conviction rate. 

Hollenbeck also received an a commendation for his participation in a multi-year undercover FBI Operation labeled “Operation Clean Sweep” which resulted in numerous arrests and convictions for drug trafficking.

Hollenbeck is a proud parent of 4 children Mike, Aaron, Kenneth, and Ashley.  In his off time he works for Advanced Investigative Services out of Nashville Illinois as a Private Investigator.  He also loves spending time with his family and friends getting together for cookouts. He is an avid NASCAR and White Sox fan; and also enjoys camping, fishing, motorcycling, boating and bowling.

Hollenbeck is a member of the Marseilles Firefighters Association, Illinois Association of Arson Investigators, Illinois Police Association, Ottawa Moose Lodge, Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Illinois Chapter 25. 

Hollenbeck is the President of the Red Knights Firemen’s Motorcycle Club, Illinois Chapter 11.
